Greeting from the Founder and Director of IEEE GCCE
On behalf of the organizing members, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2019 IEEE 8th Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE 2019) to be held in Osaka, Japan on October 15-18, 2019.
The first conference of GCCE series, GCCE 2012, was planned by me on 2011, and was strongly supported by Dr. Stefan Mozar and Mr. Stephen Dukes. First, I wish to thank Dr. Mozar, Mr. Dukes and all the members of Consumer Electronics Society who have endeavored to establish the conference.
Before the GCCE was established, the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society had held two successful conferences, the International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE) in Las Vegas, and the International Symposium on Consumer Electronics (ISCE) every year. The GCCE is a sister conference of the ICCE in Las Vegas and the ICCE-Berlin. Furthermore, the Consumer Electronics Society has held several conferences including the International Conference on Consumer Technologies, the International Conference on Consumer Electronics Taiwan, the International Conference on Consumer Electronics Asia and IEEE Games, Entertainment and Media Conference.
With the exploring growth of consumer electrics technologies, the GCCE has attracted wide attention from many researchers in various fields. Actually, the GCCE becomes one of the largest conferences in the Consumer Electronics Society, and its attention has been more and more increasing.
The GCCE 2019 is hosted by Prof. Takahiro Ogawa as the Conference Chairs, Prof. Takako Nonaka as the Executive Committee Chair, Prof. Sung-Jea Ko, Prof. Tihao Chiang, Prof. Ryota Nishimura as the Technical Program Committee Chairs, Prof. Yuya Koyama as the TPC Vice-chair, and with organizing members from around the world, based on these of GCCE from 2012 to 2018 as well as the 13th IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics (ISCE 2009) which was held successfully by us in Kyoto, Japan on May 2009. They are working hard to make the GCCE 2019 succeed.
This conference will be endorsed by a strong scientific and technical program and by the attendance of senior engineers and younger delegates from various countries. I believe that it is very important for us to discuss interesting topics and exchange ideas. Through the GCCE, we will continue to stimulate and inspire each other.
