Abstract: Nowadays, digital audio products seem to become full growth in consumer electronics. Novel and advanced technologies are required for the enrichment of our new audio and acoustic experiences. Moreover, revisiting contemporary audio engineering is also required to design new audio devices and products. This special session aims at discussing recent research results in technique and application of audio engineering, such as audio digital processing, spatial audio, room acoustics, entertainment, and perception and evaluation of such applications, and so forth.

Abstract: Establishing the reliability of networked consumer electronic products is important. The use of formal/mathematical methods is known as a promising approach in designing reliable consumer electronic products. The organized session aims at stimulating research on formal/mathematical approach to consumer electronics and its applications. The major topics include: formal specification and modeling; model-based development; formal verification; application to real-time, hybrid and dependable systems; formal methods for safety, security, and reliability; computer tools; and applications. The session organizers also welcome authors to submit reports on formal approaches to larger systems such as AGVs and smart elevators.

Our session will discuss research on "Ambient Sensor Network" for recognizing the living human behavior, which is an element core technology, in order to perform the smart space. One of the discussions is a sensory nerve technology to recognize the activities of consumers. In addition, the subject of our special session, sensors, actuators, devices, network, human interface, service algorithm, consumer electronics, and robotics, however, not limited to them.

Abstract: Networking Technologies have a couple of advantages for CE devices. Such devices have computing and communication functions, and communicate with each other. Networks for CE are also emerging rapidly. However, such networks suffer from incompatibility. Integrated architecture, protocol and middleware for consumer networks are required for advanced applications for CE. Such applications include digital healthcare, home security, social network service, home appliance control from mobile phone and so on.
The purpose of this special session is to provide a forum for researchers and engineers to present research results in this area.

Abstract: The current activities in Internet of Things (IoT) are focused on architecture and protocols for efficient interconnection of heterogeneous things and creation of value-added services. On the other hand, Fog Computing is an paradigm that extends cloud computing and services to the edge of the network. Due to its proximity to end-users, dense geographical distribution, open platform and support for high mobility, it can provide services with reduced latency and improved QoS. Thus Fog Computing is becoming an important enabler of IoT applications that demand real-time operations. But the success of IoT strongly depends on adaptation of IoT products and services by consumers. Recognizing the importance of consumers and the benefits IoT & Fog Computing can bring to the public, this special session emphasizes on their consumer centric approach. Abstract: Image Safety and Comfortability is to provide and promote an environment in which viewers can enjoy the benefits in virtual reality without adverse effects by reducing undesirable effects on human health particularly caused by virtual reality space with electronic displays. There has been a notable increase in chances to view VR images by 3D image devices, HMD ( head mount displays), and Augment reality displays. However, it is indicated that VR space images without careful consideration of the properties of the human visual system may induce possibly undesirable biomedical effects. The objective of this special session/workshop is to attract participants for knowledge enhancement and discussions about the VR space image safety and comfortability from the point of not only the scientific ergonomics but display characteristics, production of VR contents and application of VR presentation.
